Hello. And welcome. I’m Steve, and I began playing bass aged about 16. Since my first band I have played for a multitude of bands covering a vast plethora of styles.
I did my first professional tour in 1999 with The Official Tribute to the Blues Brothers.
This led to subsequent tours and work in the West End.
Occasionally Steve Parry (MD) will put together a line up from those years and recently we took the band to Africa for The Cheetah International Arts festival and also to Austria and Germany.
My dep work has varied from hardcore metal bands such as Ezra, through to West End musical tours such as Beyond the Barricade.
I currently play for rock covers band Dead Famous, play some acoustic gigs with my musical cohort Jed, working corporate functions with The Gr8 Eight and Alpha Connection, and also do sessions for The Latch playing original material. Most recently, following a last minute dep in Dublin, I I have joined the tour with Keavy and Edele from Irish girlband B*Witched.
My own work ranges from acoustic to industrial rock.
I also teach for a variety of places; privately, schools, colleges and for Yamaha. I was self taught, but eventually studied with Clive Gregory, The Bass Institute, and Canterbury Christchurch University. In addition to a variety of instruments, I use Trace Elliot/Marshall amplification, and am an endorsee of Elites bass guitar strings. |
